The chainring is the heart of the new 1x Ekar system, with gear options covering a wide range of uses. Obviously, the single gear is easy to use: no derailleur, significantly reduced weight, with fewer moving components that collect dirt and can cause jamming, and with high chain security, without unnecessary gear overlaps: a perfect solution for gravel courses. The two connecting rods made of UD carbon fiber have AISI 630 steel semi-bolts mounted, in line with the wise combination of materials of the entire Ekar group, in order to obtain lightweight components but with the highest level of efficiency and durability. New ProTech technology joins the two half-bolts inside the bottom bracket with a single strong screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing is located on the connecting rod, assembled on the half-bolt, for maximum fluidity and resistance, and to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance, without having to dismantle the cups.

There are four gear options: Adventure has 38 teeth; Pure Gravel 40, Fast Gravel 42 and eGravel 44. Its optimized design offers an efficient transmission and a chain of maximum reliability. The lightweight and strong 7075 aluminum gears are easily interchangeable: you can simply unscrew them from the four crank arms without having to dismantle the chainring. The four arms, arranged asymmetrically for optimal load distribution, have a 123 mm bolt circle. Changing gears is a simple and efficient way to change gears when tackling different types of trails. The Ekar chainring features four crank length options - 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm - to adapt to cyclists and bikes of all types. On some gravel bikes with a low bottom bracket, the shorter cranks are the most used to avoid getting stuck on uneven and unpredictable surfaces. A Q factor of 145.5 mm offers a comfortable and efficient pedaling style, whatever your size. The UD carbon arms are equipped with removable protective end caps, to keep your components looking like new, regardless of the type of terrain you face.
